The Mission of the OCBB is to enrich the musical community of Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio through performances of quality music from the British Brass Band literature.

The "Old Crown" name is a reference not only to the British musical heritage of the Brass Band literature, but also to the Old Crown Ale brewed in Fort Wayne by the Centlivre Brewing Company until 1961 and by the Old Crown Brewing Corporation from 1961 - 1973
